2014-10-22 Hey Ballerina!

Dear Reese,

At three years old, you started going to ballet classes at your school twice a week for an hour per session.

AND YOU LOVE IT.

Mommy doesn't have photos of you in ballet class.
But you have many photos dancing in our garage.

I can't tell if ballet is something that you will continue to pursue as you get older. I just want you to not stop learning and loving to dance.

Dance, Reese. You'll enjoy life more if you do. (We also enjoy watching you, too.)

Love,
Mommy

2014-10-21 Family Day

Dear Reese and Francis,

Last Saturday (October 18, 2014), you had your first ever FAMILY DAY. Your school, Oneworld Montessori House Inc., hosted the celebration at El Salvador Beach Resort in Danao.

Mommy and Daddy had to cancel their Marriage Enrichment Retreat so that we could join your Family Day and see your dance presentations --- they were EPIC.

Francis, you were at the front row of the stage, and yet you were the only one NOT moving. While everybody else was dancing, you were just standing there, staring into space and occasionally nodding your head to feel your cap. Mommy took a video of the dance, but I stopped midway into the song because you were simply doing nothing.

Reese, I don't even have a picture of your dance because you didn't go up the stage at all! You were crying because you didn't like to wear your grass skirt, and it was raining and Mommy could tell that you hated the feel of the sand on your feet ever since we got to the beach. You love to dance and yet you missed your family day Hawaiian number.

But... it's okay guys. We still had some fun on your family day. Here are more photos:

Francis happily eating snacks. Sky Flakes is that good!
Mommy's favorite picture.
Daddy, Mommy and Francis during the Hulahoop Game.
Reese when she was in a better mood.
Reese and Mommy bonding time.
Our best attempt at a family picture. Lol.

You only need to know that regardless of how your class presentations will turn out (and you will still have so many more of them, I tell you), Mommy and Daddy will always be there to support you guys as best as we can.

Your Family Days will never be without family.

Love,
Mommy

2014-10-15 Daddy's Girl

Dear Sera,

As a one year-old, you smile easily and a lot.

But you also have this special smile that you give to Daddy. Do you know why I call it special? Because when you see Mommy, you smile; then a few seconds after, when you see Daddy, you smile even wider! Sometimes I think your mouth might hurt from smiling too much... But of course, we love you for being so joyful and happy especially when your parents are around. Your smile is contagious.

Daddy takes pride in knowing that you love him in a special way. You are definitely "his girl".

Love you baby,

Mommy

2014-10-13 Daddy takes you to school

Dear Reese amd Francis,

Meet your personal driver:

Daddy.

He takes you to school every morning at 8:00 am. Sera also goes along for the joy ride. (I think she feels lonely for the two hours that she's the only kid in the house.)

Someday, you will all be personal drivers of Daddy, and you will take care of him (and Mommy too) the way we are taking care of you now. When that day comes - when we are old - I hope that you will be patient with us. I'm counting on you guys.

In the meantime, enjoy preschool!

Love,

Mommy

2014-10-12 Frenemies

Dear Francis and Sera,

Scenario: Mommy comes home from work and enters the house. Sera is standing near the doorway. Francis runs as fast as he can towards Mommy and "runs over" his little sister. Sera cries like a baby.

Kuya Francis makes Baby Sera cry a lot of times. It's normal for siblings to not get along sometimes. What's important is that you love and forgive each other always.

Never forget - Love and Forgiveness.

Mommy

2014-10-11 #frankypio

Dear Francis,

When you grow up and become a heartthrob - and you will because you've got awesome genes from Mommy and Daddy - don't break hearts. Be a good boy. Treat girls the way you would treat Mommy or Reese or Sera, with respect.

I thank the Lord everyday for making you handsome. Hehe.

Love,

Mommy

2014-10-10 From Daddy

Dear Reese, Francis and Sera,

I want nothing more than for you to grow up feeling loved and capable of loving yourself, others and most importantly, the Lord.

That is why I always try to show you Daddy's great love, so that you may know God's GREATEST LOVE.

Love you guys!

-Daddy
